Joe Richer
Senior DevOps Engineer – Software EngineeringCan you tell us about your role at BI:PROCSI? What will you be working on as a Senior DevOps Engineer? At BI:PROCSI i'll be leading the DevOps efforts across a variety of client projects. This includes designing and managing cloud infrastructure, optimising CI/CD pipelines, and helping teams adopt infrastructure as code and DevOps best practices. I'll also be supporting clients who want to retain control over parts of their stack, so collaboration with the team and flexibility will be key.*Can you share your journey and experience in DevOps and infrastructure that led you to become a Senior DevOps Engineer?*Sure! I started my journey over 7 years ago, working across various spaces such as payments, telecommunications and cloud platforms. Over the years i've focused on automating infrastructure with tools such as Terraform and Ansible, managing Kubernetes clusters and improving developer workflows through CI/CD. I've been very lucky to work with some of the best engineers along the way.*What were the key factors that made you choose to join BI:PROCSI?*After years of working in large organisations I was ready for a new challenge. Something faster paced, more hands on and with greater variety. I'd never worked in a consultancy before and the idea of partnering closely with different clients, each with their own goals and challenges really appealed to me. BI:PROCSI stood out due to the ways of working. They value autonomy, collaboration and trust their engineers to take ownership which aligned perfectly with what I was looking for.*Finally, when you're not optimising CI/CD pipelines or managing cloud infrastructure, what do you enjoy doing in your free time?*When i'm not in work mode I like to spend my weekends playing tennis, this has become a favourite hobby of mine since picking it up after COVID. I also try to go skiing with a group of friends once a year if I can. When i'm feeling less active I love to sync some hours into a good Netflix series, currently don't have anything yet so i'm open to any recommendations!9:31JoeI can cut this down if its a bit too wordy
