What do you do at BI:PROCSI?

I am a Senior Data Engineer in the team, building a new data platform from scratch inside the Google Cloud. This new data platform will serve as the feed into a machine learning algorithm to create business insights and perform predictive analytics for the end users.

How did you find the onboarding experience with BI:PROCSI? Were there any aspects that stood out as particularly positive or challenging?

The team was very clear on the expectations during the onboarding process. I have been given a clear list of tasks and self-learning exercises which were expected to be completed and feedback to the manager. Overall, within a few days, I was able to understand my responsibilities and the nature of the work. The team was also flexible and encouraged me to explore areas in which I have not worked before and could benefit the team in the long run. It was also encouraging to know that they always look for quality over quantity of work.

What were the main reasons you chose to join BI:PROCSI?

I have been working in the data platforms for 15 years, and in all those years I was working predominantly in the consulting and services domain. However, Bi:Procsi has allowed me to explore product design and development, which was very interesting. During the interview process, they were transparent about my responsibilities and the expected outcome. Working for a small but exponentially growing team also was a factor which would give me opportunities to progress towards more challenging roles and responsibilities. Last but not least, the team and the management were really friendly and casual during the entire recruitment process, which is the exact reflection of the company culture.

What do you enjoy most about working here?

As we are building a product from scratch, we face new challenges every day. However, the team gets together to understand the blockers and come up with exceptional solutions. We are also allowed to explore and research new tools and technologies in the industry which we could adopt.

How would you describe the team dynamics and collaboration within the company?

We get along with each other through regular meetings and try to understand each other's blockers and mitigate them. Thanks to the management, the team spirit is always high due to the regular team building activities and socials we conduct. The management also honours the opinion of the members democratically before making any decisions.

What would you say sets this company apart from others you've worked for?

It is rare to see so many great talents assembled in a small space, this is the reason why the company is growing exponentially. It is also worth mentioning again that the management honours the opinions and inputs from the members through regular feedback, which keeps the working environment clear and transparent.

How do you see your role evolving in the future, and what opportunities do you hope to explore?

During the interview process, it was made very clear that I would be allowed to explore different areas of the company, not just technology roles but also presales and consulting. In my opinion, the options are unlimited here and the management is flexible and encourages us to explore areas which we would enjoy and bring more value to the company. As a small but growing company, progressing to higher responsibility roles and opportunities are much higher. Last but not least, as we are building a product with machine learning and Artificial Intelligence as the primary focus, the company keeps in line with the latest cutting-edge technologies and industry trends.

Can you share any advice for individuals who are considering joining BI:PROCSI?

Always prepare yourself to learn, adapt and implement using the latest tools in the market.

It will be a plus if you have a huge appetite for learning. Mastering the art of data load and transformation using strong SQL and Python programming is a great advantage.

Finally, when you're not working on Data pipelines etc at BI:PROCSI, what do you like to do for fun?

Socials at BI:PROCSI are always fun. We believe that healthy team bonding is a must to keep the team spirit high to deliver quality work. Hence, we conduct outdoor terrace parties with games and an open bar in summer, video game parties, drinks after work, Halloween and Christmas parties to name a few. We also have fun social chat rooms where we share dad jokes, memes and some nerdy stuff to keep you giggling while working remotely.
